I am a ‘people’ painter, based on the Isle of Arran off the west coast of Scotland. The Island and its community are very important to me, and this is reflected in much of my subject matter. I particularly enjoy painting portraits and focus on trying to catch the personality of the sitter. I can work from life or photographs. I also like painting big canvasses full of individuals. Living on Arran, landscapes and animals are also part of my work. I work mostly in oils but can use other mediums.

Prior to focussing on painting, I spent many years designing and making knitwear and textiles before turning again to painting.

I work from my home which overlooks Brodick. I don’t have a studio with opening hours but am happy to show my work by arrangement and welcome new commissions.
